Is it ok to submit only 3 LOE from 3 science professors?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Since AADSAS limits 4, I'm not sure if 3 LOE are considered not good enough.

Do some research on the schools you want to apply to. Some REQUIRE a certain # of LOE's. For instance, UNLV requires 4 LOE's, so you'd better have 4. Others require 2 science LOE's and nothing else. A lot require a LOE from a dentist. So...research is the key.

Yeah, definitely look at each school you're applying too. Most list it on their websites under application components or something like that.

For some, you're probably going to need either another non-science professor letter or one from a dentist, but definitely check into it.

I maxed out on my AADSAS 4 with 2 science, 1 dentist, and 1 non-science.. but I had two schools that required a 3rd science so I just had that 3rd science letter sent directly to the schools (not through AADSAS)

As you can tell, it was kind of a pain, but most schools are different in what they want so definitely check! 🙂

Columbia was the only one that required 3 sciences... but I had to send my 3rd science (which was a bio) to tufts because my first 2 sent through aadsas were chemistry profs, and tufts requires 1 from a bio prof and another from a second science (chem, physics.. etc). So tufts did receive 3 science from me, but they only need 2. Sorry if i made you do a double-take!

P.S. are you (or anyone who reads this) applying to tufts? if so, did you have a dentist specify in their letter that you shadowed for over 30 hours with them?

it says it's required, but i missed it and didn't see until after my dentist wrote and sent in the letter to aadsas, so it was too late to have him add that in... it says on my app that i shadowed him over 30 hrs.. how big of a deal do you think it will be that he didn't specifically say that in the letter?

some schools are so picky haha..
