I am from the east coast and have applied to 3 schools on the west coast and two I have heard back from and have interviews but the last one I am still waiting to hear back from. I only want to take one trip to the west coast. Is it acceptable to call the dental school and ask them I am interviewing at two dental schools on the west coast and I was wondering if a decision has been on my application?
Is it okay to call the school?

In this case, no. We play by their rules. We wait for them to give us a decision - we don't ask. We come when invited. It would be nice, but if they made these kind of accommodations for everyone, the interview process would be a mess. You'd kind of be telling them that you'd prefer not have to fly out there just for them. They don't want to hear about your other interviews and don't want to know that you're trying to squeeze them in while you're in the neighborhood. Kind of like dating.

Life must be hard trying to get interviews from all the oos west coast schools then trying to fit it all into one trip...................... but don't worry I can TOTALLY relate to your hardships.
I'm from the west coast and I've been trying to get interviews from nyu, stony brook, buffalo, and columbia myself but those pesky adcoms are just taking forever. I mean come on!!!! just let me pick the interview dates so I can make one trip to NY and have 4 interviews in one week.
Sigh.......... being a top applicant is so stressful sometimes.................
