Is it okay to get a W in a humanities class?

Hi! I'm taking an Asian American Studies class and it's much more difficult than I expected. I just got a 0 on my last midterm because I spent the time studying for my Biochemistry and Biology midterms instead. It's too late to P/NP the class-- would it affect me negatively if I just went for the W?

This would be my first withdrawal and hopefully my only in college.

If you're going to get a D or F ya I would withdraw if I were you. Be able to explain it well and not make a habit of dropping classes and you'll be fine.

I doubt anyone will care about a single W. I had two--no one asked me about either. If I remember correctly, one was watercolor. I was taking it at night on the side at a community college for fun.

But, I wouldn't give the reason you state--that looks pretty bad. Even rephrasing it as "I wanted to focus on bio/biochem" is better than saying you skipped a midterm.
