Like when im writing why im interested in dentistry

is it okay to say something like

my grandma always used denture and i felt sad when i saw her blahblah

of course my grandma didnt use denture..

is it okay to make up an experience to add for my personal statement

It's ok as long as you put an asterisk after each lie and cite the lie at the end of the personal statement.

Actually I think the citations have to be MLA format.

it's unprofessional to not cite

even though it's on the informal side, i'd cite it to be safe

Ya its ok to lie, just like it will be ok to lie to insurance companies about extra procedures you didn't do on a patient, but still bill for them.

Or like lying to your spouse about how you didn't cheat on her. Totally cool.

As long as you are very sure you want to take up dentistry as a career. And do it if it's absolutely necessary, and make sure you don't get caught up in the things you say.

Why dont you just think of a real reason... surely there must be one. Do you know how many people probably use lines like the one you're talking about... from the adcom perspective I would be thinking those reasons are pretty thin too.

It just seems like it's not based on anything substantial; but, some experience you had when you were younger. Why not just get any job and buy your grandma dentures? You see where I'm coming from?

Obvious troll is obvious.

(trololol).

what does that mean to " CITE "

how do I do it ?

someone mentioned mla

but i just did something like

on my nona's deathbed, the last words she said to me were, "yellowishbluish, i'm in so much pain. these dentures are really bothering me." (not really.) sadly i couldn't help her at the time. but when she passed i vowed to become a dentist and help other nonas so that no other boy would have to hear those sad words that i had to hear.

Its always ok to lie if it helps you reach your goal. Need to pay off your house faster? Just tell your patients that they need a crown instead of a filing. Who cares about ethics?

sounds like 90% of the dentists by my house haha.

but seriously OP, if that's the basis of your personal statement...then...you better come up with something new pretty fast. if you need another pair of eyes to look at your PS, i'd be happy to.

No, no, no, no... You're doing it wronguh.

Give your parents the filling, charge the insurance for the crown 😀

Ethics? Fraud? What are those?

Trolls are slowly making their way into SDN as the years go on.

That, or the little troll inside all of us are starting to feel more comfortable 😀
