Hello y'all,

I am very fortunate to have had multiple acceptance on December 3rd. I am currently struggling with the dilemma of choosing between 2 schools that I really love and liked. However, with the semester and Finals piling on, I don't think I am quite ready to make one of the most important decision of my life.

Ideally, I would like to put down two non-refundable deposits at two dental schools that I could definitely see myself attending (likely, these school don't have super high deposit amounts). I would like to re-visit both schools again in January, and this time really get to survey the area and get an in-depth feel of the type of learning environment and future I will have there as a student. I will also speak with my parents in person which I wouldn't be able to do until I see them in person after the initial deadline (January 2-3rd) is due.

My question is, is it allowed for student to hold 2 seats and pay 2 separate deposit to 2 different institutions. I know that schools can this in April, but by then I am confident I will have made my decision, and will have informed the other school that I will not be attending in March or earlier. I know it is frowned upon as I might be holding a seat for a person that really wants it, and I will release the seat as soon as I feel comfortable with decision to forgo it, but I just don't feel like I can do it now with my Fall classes and Finals still pending and not having the chance to revisit those places.

Also, I wrote a really poorly written post-acceptance email to one of these school (filled with multiple typos and grammatical errors), what are the chances that the school might reconsider and rescind my acceptance as a result? :scared:This is considering I always thought the writing in my P.S (granted, after heavy review and editing) was a selling point of my app. In this email, I was polite and ecstatic, but the quality of writing in this email was very poor. Not proofreading the email was a grave mistake but I really hope its not fatal! Thank you all.

Sure go ahead that’s what they are for if you got the money.

And next, stop being neurotic, the person reading it already put it in the trash bin 10 seconds to stop their inbox from cluttering.
Thank you!

And yes! This time, I really hope whoever reads my email really puts it in the trash

some schools have 2 deposits, so that is one thing you have to consider
and also, you do not have to make this decision now, wait until after your finals and see how you feel then, it may all be clearer to you later

and your poorly written email will no make a difference, they know you are excited when you get an acceptance 🙂

aloha

I had a deposit for 2 schools... and ended up not going to either one lol. Big waste of money but ehh...

How did that happen? Did you get an acceptance at a target school after paying the 2 deposits?
I put a deposit down to Pittsburgh early March, my fiancee did not get accepted anywhere yet but had an interview at Midwestern AZ so her dad told me to put down a deposit there too in case she got in... then Mid March she gets into Houston and I get in to Houston 2 weeks later. Lmao... bye bye $2500 in deposits. But ended up saving more in tuition so thats fine.

It sounds like this all happened in the span of a month... paying that much (plus your Houston deposit) in such a short amount of time makes my head spin. Glad it all worked out in the end, though.
