Hi all,

I'll be applying to US med schools next cycle (in the summer of 2019). I still need to take a full year of English credits in order to increase my US med school eligibility, so I'll be taking English courses this coming year.

Would it be alright to take first year English courses, or do US med schools frown upon upper years taking first-year courses/applicants having more first year courses than normal?

Most US colleges don't distinguish first-year courses from general intro courses. You'll be fine - plenty of people take courses out of sequence for scheduling reasons and medical schools probably won't even know the details of your school offerings well enough to know e.g. XYZ 101 is mostly freshmen
