haven't used bittorrent in awhile. Where are you trying to connect from? The problem with the TCD network (it's not the best and is pretty annoying in residences now anyway with their new security whatever policies) is that there's a firewall. Find someone who knows how to get around the firewall and there you go... there's usually someone or two who knows how to do it, but I haven't found him/her :).

yeah sounds great leorl!

I live in trinity hall, and i've been having a few problems trying to set up skype and msn.... but i've managed to get it done.. but bit torrent is another story...! Anyways i'll try to find that computer genius how might be able to help me out. Thanks!

hey bud,

any chance you can come over to house 82 to help me with msn and skype. i have no idea how to get around the firewall. i installed bit torrent but cant get it to actually download anything ... most likely the same problems with security etc. it would be sweet if we could hack the system and get around security.

RCSI has the same problems, can anyone help?

Once again, UCD comes to the rescue of the other Irish med schools :p Just kidding, we're using http://www.http-tunnel.com to get past the network proxy. It costs around $4 US/month but it's entirely worth it to get all of your programs working.

Glad to see all the med students out last saturday. Me an MD? how the hell did we start talking that night? It's all kind of a blur.

Cheers,
Jocks

I dont really remember either. Sign of a good night i guess. I ended up meetin lots of UCD ppl that night. All were cool and quite drunk. Work hard play hard thats what I say.

**** i have a Mac and theres no released http-tunnel programs for Os x yet. Although this comp is cool as **** i'm starting to question my decision.
