ok so is it possible to transfer to LCME accredited or U.S. Allopathic medical school from a foreign medical college accredited by IMED if you went to med school straight from high school in America and didn't go though undergrad or take your MCAT's

I ask this becuase some school allow you to transfer 3 year and ask for USMLE step 1 scores yet they say nothing about MCAT or undergrad

anyother options???

ive checked the sites but didn't find much

Transfers are very specific from school to school. I believe many will require that you are transfering from an LCME accredited school, but I've seen some that include DO and Canadian schools, I believe. Your best bet is to check out the websites of a few LCME schools and check out their requirements for transfer. In general, it's a difficult thing to do just within the US, I imagine it would be near impossible from a foreign school.

so many views and only a single reply anyone out there!!!!!!!!

You might want to try the ValueMD website. It's a forum for foreign medical schools and they may know more about your question. Although, I have a suspicion the answer is that if you go to a foreign medical school plan on getting a foreign medical degree.

Its not so much a question of which schools would take you from a foreign school, but which schools would take a transfer student from a non accredited university when most transfer spots are filled up with US students. These transfer spots are really hard to come by, and I fully agree with the above poster: if you go to a foreign school, expect to stay there. If this is not what you want, your best bet would be to look at your file, improve it and reapply.
Hope this helps and good luck!
