wtf does that even mean?

I mean, I guess we could randomly cancel payments for services that were already performed, put 20 year olds in charge of telling professionals with decades of experience what they can or can’t do, privatize public goods and services, and demand more and more onerous documentation of what work is being done. It seems to be working out about as well for the federal government as it has in Medicine.

It's too big of a job for DOGE - too many variables, too high maintenance.

The starting point for DOGE should be asking the same question they asked of education in America: Is there an absolute requirement that your healthcare MUST to be managed by the federal government vs by your state government?

If the answer is "no", like it obviously is to American education, then the first and only step for DOGE is to abolish all federal health programs and shift this responsibility to state governments.

That's the unpopular but correct answer. They could always disburse federal grants if they're concerned some states can't financially pull their own weight.

Nope. Certain states particularly red ones have abrogated interest in healthcare.

I would argue that education should be a federal responsibility as the current system of state education has lead to some states with very poor results with no standardized knowledge base that we see in other countries.

DOGE isn't finding fraud, it's gutting a whole bunch of programs and employees.

DOGEing pain would be to stop or slash funding to Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA. Don't think most here would enjoy the effect on their bottom line.
How do you know what they’re finding? And they don’t gut anything. They make recommendations.

The entire system must be blown up, bulldozed, and rebuilt from the ashes. Doge everything in sight with a sledgehammer.
