Is it too late for an interview invite? How about a secondary?

After taking the August MCAT and primary, I submitted secondaries from 31st Oct to 15th Dec, but haven't interviewed anywhere yet. Is it too late? Am I just in the queue for receiving a rejection letter when they send out the next batch?

Also, I haven't received an invite to submit a secondary at any of the UC schools, and am beginning to think it's way too late.

i got an interview invite yesterday, and i still have a few schools yet to hear from, so i'm pretty sure they're still out there, as for secondaries, it does seem a little late...

Not too late for an interview, almost definitely too late for a secondary. I think most schools had their absolute secondary deadlines no later than december.

It is not too late for interviews. Secondaries, yes.

I've been invited for interviews in May.

I'm pretty sure it was for the wait-list, but it was a non-rolling school. Didn't matter b/c they rejected me anyway. But the interview invites will be coming for a while...

Now the secondaries... they're pretty much done. If you haven't gotten/submitted them. It isn't happening.

Most medical schools I've called said there is a huge surge in applications this year and they will continue interviewing longer than before.

I blame it on the stupid surge in TV medical shows. Why oh why are there so many entertaining ones?

If only I didn't watch 3 of them I'd demand that they be pulled from the air lol.

Lord I hope they're still giving interview invites since I have only had ONE interview so far...and it's horrible when you show up and everyone else there has like 8 invites and you're like...oh crap. Then one fellow invitee tells me he had 6 interviews LAST year and got rejected from all of them.

Definitely did not help my confidence lol.

When I got home from work yesterday, I had a letter from UCSF. I thought, "Here it is! Final confirmation!" And sure enough, it was the thanks for applying but no thanks letter. So I'll keep my fingers crossed that I interview before MAY. I don't think I could hold out that long, really.

Anyhow, thanks for all your support, I wish *you* the best of luck in your process of doing this unbelievable act of becoming a doctor.

When did you submit your primary? I live in the UK, so it might just be taking a while to get to me, so here's keeping fingers crossed.

I received a UCI secondary on 1/11 so they should definitely be giving out interviews.
