Hi guys,

The more I read all these posts the more confused I get.
I'm taking the DAT for my second time in the end of October. The dental schools have my application and all they need is my new scores.
Do you guys think that I'm late? I want to get in next year (meaning Fall 2009).
These are the schools I'm applying to:
NYU
Columbia
Stony Brook

Their application deadline is between January-February 2009 so does it mean that I might make it to the interview (if I do really well)?
Please don't tell me to call and ask them because I did and they are not being clear about it.

I appreciate your help thank you.

You just applied to just 3 schools? Im taking my DAT in less than a week for the Fall of 2009, but I applied to like 20 schools. Whats good about DAT is being able to fax DAT scores, so make sure you do that.

Thank you for the reply Superman and yes I applied to 3 schools only. I know a few people who did the same and they were accepted to at least one or two. So I'm hoping for the best.
Are you saying that I can fax my copy to the schools? Don't they want the original?

By the way, are you late or are you still good?

From what I understand your unofficial report will suffice as grounds for possibly being granted an interview to a candidate while the DAT scores are in transit to all selected schools. I want to go to BU/Tufts/UB and they recently began interviewing (not Tufts). But other schools are booked until April (Case). So I'm not too worried, Good luck though!

a lot of schools will not accept faxed scores even temporarly, a few might so i would call and ask

I called like 12 schools and the ones that would not accept was BU...call though

Hey Amethyst, may I suggest you add a couple more schools to your list. 3 is definitely not a safe bet at all, especially with how competitive it has become.

If you, for some reason, get rejected by all 3 schools (trust me it can happen, even with good stats), your going to have to wait an ENTIRE year to reapply, and your going to end up spending more money anyway. The best bet is to have at least 7 schools.
