Hi,

Would it be too late to have completed my app by mid to end of September. I can submit primary by end of July, but won’t be able to take the MCAT till late August. Does the throw away school method still work? I.e, applying to the lowest ranked school to verify primary? Should I just wait until next cycle. I’m totally lost on what to do please help.

Sgpa: 3.27
Cgpa: 3.28

That's fine for DO

Dangerous game applying in July without knowing what your MCAT will be. I think your strategy is good though... apply to a throwaway and await MCAT results.

My app was complete end of September

I matriculate to med school next month

My app wasn't completed until mid September due to a slow moving letter writer. I still received 2 interview invitations and an acceptance.

That being said, I had a decent application and think I would have gotten more interviews if I had been completed earlier. It won't destroy you, but you should be more strategic about your schools.

I submitted my primary app in February (with somewhat similar stats)...I DO NOT recommend doing that but I am also matriculating this summer so I think you'll be fine! haha

You're an extreme outlier; I can't recommend tanything like this.

As the DO cycle is longer than MD, one is fine submitting a primary as late as T-giving. Getting into Dec is pushing it.
