A friend of mine interviewed at KCUMB last year and when he called the admissions office after 2 days, he was told that an acceptance later was going to be mailed out the next day. Is this common with KCUMB?

they meet biweekly and make decisions right there. so ur friend probably interviewed the day of or before their meeting and heard right away

Wow that's awesome! I wish all schools met and decided that quickly! I have an interview at KCUMB this coming Thursday, so hopefully I hear back from them in the next week or two after that (and it's good news lol).

Decisions are typically made the week you interview. Rarely do they not know before the Friday of your interview week if you give them a call, and standard practice is to mail out letters on Monday or Tuesday following your interview week.

I have an interview at KCUMB this Tuesday (9/11). Its funny that they want me to complete my secondary by interview day. I am kinda nervous, but I am looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone this season.

If you're lucky, maybe you'll get me to give you the campus tour and sit on the student panel to answer your questions.

Don't stress about the interview... KCUMB has already decided your background education/grades/recommendations/etc. are in order. All the interview is for is to make sure you have a good personality and won't clash with other classmates. They accept a very large percentage of students they interview, though of course some choose to go elsewhere.

Thanks for the positive input. I am finding myself unable to relax because I'm so nervous/excited. The girl I'm staying with seems really nice, so hopefully she'll be helpful in the not stressing plan. Haha

what kinds of questions do they like to ask at KCUMB.. this will be my first interview, im very excited and surprisingly not nervous (ts still a bit away at 9/26) but rather excited for the opportunity.

I heard they like to ask an ethical dilemma question

A few of the interviewers ask an ethics question, but most don't. Some are as laid back as "tell me what types of things you did in undergrad, why did you pick your undergrad degree, why DO over MD, etc."

Just be personable, polite, and honest. If you're not completely socially inept or a sociopath, you'll probably do just fine. 🙂
