Crap? They've made cadence calls about crap!

They say that in the Army the women are mighty fine, but they are short, fat and dumpy, and walk like Frankenstein.

They say that in the Army the coffee's mighty fine. It looks like muddy water and tastes like turpentine.

They say that in the Army the chow is mighty fine. A chicken jumped off the table and started marking time.

They say that in the Army the biscuits are mighty fine. One rolled off the table and killed a friend of mine.

Oh lord I wanna go, but they won't let me go, oh lord I wanna go home

Seriously? Every day is an adventure. Every meal is a feast. Every payday brings a small fortune.

First of all military isn't for wimps.

Even in the private sector you could get treated like crap. Dentistry is a people's profession and you deal with all walks of life. Talk to some military dentists to get a much better perspective than what your friends are telling you.

Don't demean the profession and our branch with an insulting question. Learn how to ask it constructively and positively.

You're not treated any worse than any other Army solider. In fact, Dentists are officers, and receive a lot of great benefits from the Army for using their skill to help US troops.

You get what you put into the service, just like any other job. If you decide that it's the worst place for you to be, then you will hate the job, the people, the patients, the work, etc. Make the most of the places you work and you will always be better off.

The only dentists I heard of complaining of being treated like crap were those who were getting out and wanted to complain about every little extra thing they had to do until they got out. Most were on their last year and didn't get Hawaii or some other nice place after their operational billet. Who is going to give you Hawaii or the duty station you want if they know you are getting out? Save those for the ones who make the commitment.
