No. Some schools require a letter from DO in which case most people would have shadowed or worked with DO. I never did neither, and I still got accepted. You can search here and also www.aacom.org to see which schools require letter from DO.

Yes. It is also true that DOs are inferior physicians who could not get into MD schools.

anyway, no.. but it does help and its the one of best ways to get a letter from a DO.
