Actually, I think they still have "Candidate" Staus, they just didn't move onto "Accreditation Status." I'm assuming that both schools will have a chance to make whatever changes are needed and be reevaluated at another onsite visit by the ACPE. Does anyone know if these decisions were just recently made and where we can look it up? The lates info on the ACPE website seems to be from the June meeting.

They have to graduate a class first...

Both schools just had their first class graduate this past Spring, so what does that mean as far as sitting for licensure examinations? On the ACPE website it says that students graduating from Candidate Staus schools have all the same rights and priveleges as those form Accredited schools. But employers won't hire graduates from a Candidate Stus school will they?

yes they will....if you can sit for the board exam, you'll be hired. There are no specific issues which are listed...they could be as large as practice settings, supervision & evaluations or small as the completeness of the faculty's CV's. You don't know. However...I'm guessing the University of California system has this thing figured out pretty well. They've done it a LOT & lots of their faculty have held positions in other insitutitions.

Their graduates won't have any trouble obtaining positions, especially since half of the 60 graduates are doing residencies!

Thanks SDN1977. You just made me feel a LOT better! I go to school in CA also and was worried that something like that could happen to my school as well, but it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
