I have a 17 credit load next semester, however I also want to take a Russian Film Course. If I took this course for a grade, I know I'd be miserable. So if I did take it, I would go into it knowing it'd be p/f. Well this have any sort of negative impact on my admissions.

it would likely only raise red flags if you took a med school pre-req pass/fail...go ahead and pass/fail this russian film thingy if it will make you happier.

Take it pass/fail. You'll have more fun. Noone is going to care if it's not a premed required course -- as the above poster mentioned.

Outside of science classes its free game. Im taking accounting right now for Pass/Fail

I took my whole last quarter pass/fail (and I took a year off, so it was on the transcripts that went to AMCAS). No one seemed to care one bit - granted they were all non-major/non-science classes.

Pass fail is okay. Just as long as you don't make it a habit, it's fine.
