You could click "submit" on AADSAS before your grades are verified by your transcripts, but your application really will not officially be submitted to your schools until your grades are verified.

That being said, would you recommend just submitting even before your transcripts are verified (while transcripts on their way/being processed), just so you don't have to wait and call every hour only to submit when verification at AADSAS is complete?

In other words, you would tell AADSAS to submit ASAP as soon as grades are verified by clicking the "submit" button early before the grades are verified.

Does this make sense? Can anyone answer my question?

Thanks so much! 😳

BUMP...
I have this same question.
It would be great if someone who has already applied could answer this, thanks!

Yes, you may submit your AADSAS prior to transcript verification if everything else on your application is complete. I recommend though, if possible, to do your best to have your LORs or composite/committee letter submitted to AADSAS so that it gets sent out to schools with the rest of your application, once. AADSAS states that it will then forward your LORs if they were not included in the mailing of your application, however, I got the feeling that schools do not like incomplete applications. My best advice is to have your application as complete as possible prior to mailing by AADSAS. What you are trying to avoid is an adcom looking through your application only to find it incomplete and have it tossed into the pile for later review. I can only imagine how many applications will compile that stack when they finally get reviewed, if they even get reviewed again.

I was told by the stony brook office last year that there is essentially no review of applications and that if your app is not complete when they get around to looking at it...

Thank you for your excellent advice! 👍

So, you would then recommend submitting the AADSAS application before grades are verified, on the condition that everything else is fully complete (including all LOR uploads/submissions to AADSAS)?

How about DAT scores? Do those need to be in before we submit?

I would say, yes. DAT scores should be in before your AADSAS app. is submitted.

The DAT scores are sent from a source other than your AADSAS app.

Log on to ADA for more info about this.

Getting back on topic:

Would it be recommended to submit the AADSAS application before grades are verified, on the condition that everything else is fully complete (including all LOR uploads/submissions to AADSAS)?

Yes, this way there is no discrepancy as far as timing goes and AADSAS will send out your app as soon as it can (next mailing date) rather than after you see online that your grades are verified and first submit payment. Timing is key.

As far as DAT scores go, they are not sent through AADSAS even though there is space to list your current/future scores on the application, those are not official. If your DAT is taken after application submission, list the date of your future DAT on AADSAS and then have your scores forwarded (by paying the ADA) to the schools of your choice right after you take it. DAT scores are now sent electronically every week from the ADA, bu they still take 2+ weeks for your score to be verified and official.

Thanks so much dentaldam, you've been very helpful!

Thank you 👍 🙂
