Is it worth writing an update letter after being post-II waitlisted? And how does one go about it?

I was waitlisted at Wayne State after having an interview. Since my summer application, I finished a semester with high marks, and was involved in various new and significant activities. I am wondering if it would be useful to send Wayne an update letter discussing this. Would it be a good idea to also include my intent to go to there? This is probably my top choice school.

Are there any good guides out there for writing such a letter?

I am Canadian, MCAT ~515 and GPA ~3.82

Thanks

An update would be appropriate and you can always reiterate strong interest in a school. If you say they are your #1 choice, in my eyes you are more or less obligated to attend there regardless of other factors like finances, though practically it's non-binding and adcoms know this, so don't put too much stock in letters of intent anyway (usually... there are some exceptions). I think that at this point reiterating strong interest with the update would be most appropriate, and then in a couple of months, if they're still your 100% top choice, then you can consider sending a #1 choice letter.
