I have read a lot of forums and the consensus is that kaplan is enough to get you through sciences and math sections. The kaplan test is tougher than the real deal in those sections. I would like to know what about the RC section?? and also, it seems that PAT is much tougher on the real test than kaplan! if that is so, what is notably harder and how do they make it tougher???

My test is on mon oct 16 and all i have is kaplan, is that enough for this test? I got 19 on all the sections on the kaplan blue book practice test on CD.

Kaplan is good for the sections you have mentioned because they give you a ton of questions that are hard and detail oriented. Especially bio where my instructor advised us to read the campell book. On the real DAT however the questions seem to be more general. I had maybe one question that asked for a specific experiment. As far as PAT is concern, use outside help, because on the DAT the hole punching and angle deferentiation is alot harder than the practice exams. in the hole punching they fold the paper diagonally alot and the holes become semi-circular. Putting the angles in order is extremely challenging because all the angles look almost the same. As a matter of fact i think only cube counting didn't change. make sure you allot yourself some time for that.I heard DAT destroyer is really good for the sciences and Barron is good for the PAT. although i have not tried them. Good luck

I had no idea about the semi circular holes. kaplan doesnt have anything for that. For the other sections of the PAT were they harder or trickier than kaplan?? for example, did the keyhole have difficult shapes to work with or did the TFE have difficult shapes??

it seems that PAT is much tougher on the real test than kaplan!

I still do not understand why people are saying this. Last year I took one practice test from topscore and got an 18. I got a 20 on the real test. I retook it this year and took two practice tests from topscore and received 19 and 21. I got a 22 on the real test. Given topscore might be a little more difficult that Kaplan, but I don't see there being a huge difference.

PAT is just one of those things that comes naturally to some people. Assuming these people are actually telling the truth about their practice scores, the real test may in fact be more difficult. However, if you go in with confidence and realize that your best is ultimately all you can do, you'll be fine!

As for everything else, you seem solid! 19s on your practice tests should land you stellar DAT scores. It looks like you're right about on pace for the 'freak out' stage of taking the DAT. It's tough I know. Just hang in there and review the topics that give you the most trouble. Then smooth everything over with a light review a couple of days before the exam. Take the last day off, and then dominate that test on the 16th!
