I am currently in third year and I am seriously considering taking Kaplan step 2 live prep. Reading through this board I seen that not many students take the live prep and they do more than just very well.
I took their step I course and got a 235/95

Is this course really worth it or is it possible to do better than step I on my own. If so how?

Thanks in advance

I would be very cautious about taking step 2 early with a step 1 score like yours. While it seems that most people do better on step 2 there are many people who do worse.

You will get interviews with that score, so I'd be careful not to release 2 until you can see your score.

just some unsolicited advice.

I took Step 2 live prep in New York. I thought the internal medicine stuff was really great. I don't usually go for these things, but I felt under the gun on time and tried it. I didn't really go to the others, surgery, peds, etc. because I really got bored. But Conrad Fisher knows his ****, and I had many, many, many, many, many, did I say many? of the questions he said would be there that were completely different than what I had learned previously. There were little nuances that were right on the button. He's a little hard to deal with as his jokes and personality can wear and/or grate on you after a while. But I did better on 2 than on 1, and I attribute it solely to him.
