The questions are just downright RIDICULOUS. There is no freakin way we have enough time for the real test if they ask these types of questions. What do u guys think?

its worth it to go through the tests just you know what kind of questions to expect. After doing a few of them you will start to pick up on similar question types and it becomes easier.

Thanks. But seriously, the calculations are just way too long...

"Necessary" or not is relative to your background in Math. If you are getting 22+ on qvault test's you can get a decent score on the DAT QR without using Math destroyer. However, if you are like me and struggle with all math (i hate it) and don't want to get a score in QR below any cutoffs then Math destoyer is absolutely necessary. I would have gotten a 14 without it. So take a qvault test and if you get below 20.. you need math destroyer. A lot of the really complicated questions that take time will be dumbed down if they show up on tests. For example, there were several question on my test that were EXACTLY like question in math destroyer in wording, but the number crunching was much much easier. The question's that say (roughly) 20% watch the thanksgiving parade, 30% watch the football game and 50% watch both and then ask you what percent does something else. I had two of these that were similar, but much easier to figure out on the real DAT. Also, know temp conversions.

I think they are great practice, but I'll let ya know for sure wednesday lol. I was good at math already so I finished all my tests in about 40 minutes or less and was averaging about 32\40. It helps you know pretty much everything out there and helps you get faster.

I bought Math Destroyer. I barely used it. The equations on the front page were good, haha. I also liked the rate problems in it. I think I went through 2 of the tests, and got too mad when it was taking WAY too long to get through them, and the questions seemed ridiculous. I took 3 qVault tests. I got 20, 19, and 21 on them. I got a 19 on the real thing, which was the 93rd percentile, I believe. I was more than satisfied with that.

Similar experience, but I went through 5 and didn't worry at all about time. Just wanted to get exposed to the types of questions. Got 20's on two qvaults and 18 on real test which was 86 percentile.

It is vital to doing well on the QR. I just took my DAT today and got 30/30. Without it, you cannot do well. I speak literally and with absolute assertiveness when I say that every question was in some way shape or form related to the DAT DESTROYER.

If you want, you can take a look at my new thread which tells you everything I did for MATH and everything else. If you have any questions, just let me know.

In short Math destroyer is necessary unless you have an awesome/fresh math background.

My DAT was just as hard as Math Destroyer and I scored exactly the same as my average practice exam scores, a 22.

Learn math destroyer and you will crush the real DAT.

100000000000 times YES!

I was struggling with QR until I mastered the math destroyer; now I can finish QR section with 10 mins to spare every time. Not too shabby, considering the fact that it took me 2 and a half hours at first haha 😀

qVault QR is pretty good too; theyre more on par with the actual DAT in terms of difficulty.

Simply put : yes
Tons of practice problems. Don't worry about timing yourself the first time around. Just learn how to do the problems.

OH MY GODD this thing is so freakin hard..............

I am struggling in like 60% of the questions.

I feel like I am not learning anything from this book cuz the problems are just so dang hard. I have to look at the solution everytime.

Don't worry man. It is like that for everyone the first time. (If you haven't looked at Chad's Videos for Math, I would suggest you do that before going any further, it will make some of those 60% questions easier). If you finish MATH DESTROYER and go back to it later towards the end and redo all the questions, you'll see how much easier it gets.

I am so freakin angry at this book right now and I feel like burning it so bad...

I don't think it helps if I just memorize types of problems in this book.

The key is to understand them; when you go over them with the answer key, make sure u understand what you are going over. When you go over the book the second time around, you won't remember the answers (you might for some) but more imptly, you will be able to do them quickly bc u understand the concepts. And BTW, the MATH DESTROYER has a lot of word problems in each of its tests, the DAT math section is easier, but the problems are identical. (Every single one of my questions was in some form related to the MATH DESTROYER).

Yeah. I try to understand the solutions but sometimes when I read over them, I feel so stupid because I literally would never thought of doing them like that. It is so hard to explain but I think the answers are so counterintuitive.

I did all 11 tests. After the first 2 tests I was so upset but I refused to give up so I met with a tutor twice for 2 hours each time. I have only had Algebra, Stats and Precalc, so I was unfamiliar with geometry and I am generally terrible at word problems.
After test 11 I moved onto DATqvault and I feel that I can score an average score in QR which is all I'm aiming for at this point. I just want to concentrate on the more important subjects from here on out (2+ weeks to go)😱.

LOL we are in the same position. I am so horrible at word problems but I can do derivatives and integrals ALL DAY since I got A's in calc 1 and 2 but these word problems are killing me. The algebra is really a piece of cake but translating those words into algebraic equations is the hard part.

Anyways I agree that focusing on bio and chem is more important and gladly I feel confident about those 3 subjects since I have studied for them since the 1st day I began my studies lol.

my test is in exactly 15 days :scared:

Hey im in the same position as you. I just finished test 10 on math destroyer and got a 17 timed. I have mostly been getting 16s timed and haven't broken 19 yet. And my test is in 7 days. 😳

I think doing MD timed is also important though. After the time runs out go back and review all the ones you got wrong or guessed on. If you can complete MD with the constraint I feel like the real DAT QR will be a walk in the park.
