When a solid compound has a vapor pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, it can sublime.
When a liquid compound that has a vapor pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, it can vaporize.
What about melting? How do you define melting point? Is it related to pressure? How?

I think that for most substances the melting point is not related to pressure due to the phase diagram EXCEPT water since it has a negatively sloped solid-liquid equilibrium line by raising the pressure of water you can melt from solid to liquid.
