Is my DAT date late?

Hey guys,

I been noticing that a lot of people are taking their DATs in the month of July.
I have applied on AADSAS on June 08, my GPA was verified in 3 weeks and in the process of mailing out my apps to the designated schools. I signed up for August 8th DAT (i pushed it back a week later). My overall GPA: 3.7, Science: 3.6, BCP: 3.62 major: pharmacology.

My question is: am I taking my DATs way to late or am I on par?

I think it depends on the schools you're interested in. Some start looking at apps ridiculously late, some ridiculously early. If you ask me, I'd say even July is a little late.

I have went thru all the material once, but I haven't practice enough to say that i'm confident enough to school high 20s. So, my chance is to just do intense studying this month and just go with scheduled date.

I'm applying to all the NY's schools, Temple, UoP, UCLA, Nova, UF, Maryland and other generic ones

I don't think any of these schools have early deadlines. My state school stops sending out invitations by early September.

UOP said they start reviewing apps the first or second week in August. So to have a complete application that they can look at during the first go around, it would be best to have DAT’s done by then.

Are you a FL resident? If not, I wouldn't bother wasting money on applying to UF.

And no, if you ask around there are TONS of people that took their DAT in August that received multiple acceptances. Just don't push it any further than that.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to whether or not you kill it.

If you rock the test, then I don't think you're late at all.

If you do average, then you may be pushing it.

Btw, I'm shooting for August 2nd date, but will push it back to the 14th if need be. I applied to nearly all the same schools.
