With the advent of gamma knife, interventional radio, and other minimally invasive techniques, is the neurosurgeon's role in disease care contracting. What is the future like?

No, the future is fine. Neurosurgeons are involved in the alternative therapies you mention and remember, back pain is the most common neurosurgical referral.

I agree with the above post. With the advent of the aforementioned therapies, our role as neurosurgeons is even more important. Also remember that typically there are only 140-150 new graduates coming out each year...people that I know have had no problems finding work
