Hello...I know I *should* know this, but can someone tell me if NYU has rolling admissions. Thank you much, oh wise studentdoctor cronies! 😀

paco said:Yes, fairly certain about that.

I've called twice previously, and they have been very cooperative and nice. The first time I called was to check the status of my application, and the second call was to ask if I could send in additional supplemental material while they await my August MCAT score. They responded positively to both of my calls. I'm hoping they'll send me a supplemental application soon - it's one of my top choices b/c of their curriculum! 🙂 Good luck to all.![]()

Isn't this process fun?!
Oh, and I hate that calling-the-admissions-office game...I try to put on my most polite voice (which for me means higher in tone -- but then everyone thinks I'm a woman..which, I'm not) and also try to plead my case in about two seconds before I'm put on hold/totally dismissed/etc. I think it's an art. 😛
After having called a few med school offices, I think the best advice is to just be firm and pleasant...and persistent. It's been posted a bunch of times on this board, but it's worth repeating: being proactive in this process can only help you...and sometimes it's WAY too easy for the admiss. office to ignore emails (cough...Hopkins...cough), so talking directly with someone is obviously most effective.
Good luck, all!
BubbleWand1 said:the people @ the nyu admissions office are definitely not very friendly...When they screwed up on their secondary this summer and it cost $0.01, somehow I got charged for it twice and when I called them to take off the charge, they couldn't figure it out...it took them a week to get back to me and then it finally came off. Then a few weeks ago, I called to find out my status and they basically were like, you should have gotten an email and hung up. Greaaaat.

At least if they're not offering me an interview, send me a quick 2 line rejection letter/email, etc, so i'm not in limbo....damn

secretmiss said:I dunno what NYU said this year, but last year NYU said they were going to accept a small amount of students in early January (or something like that) and the majority on Feb. 15. Not so at all....I got in on like Dec 7. and alot other people received acceptances throughout Dec. From reading this board, almost no one who had to wait until Feb 15. got an acceptance at that point, just waitlists and rejections. NYU's written admissions policy and actual policy did not match last year. I don't know if things will be different this year since they moved to AMCAS.
PS. NYU has the worst financial aid package imaginable
It is very disappointing to think you are going to go to NYU for months only to be offered $50,000 of loans when you're EFC is 0.
