The DAT has nothing to do with Org Chem. Lab.

That is incorrect. Lab techniques such as extractions and filtrations are possible topics covered in the organic chemistry portion of the DAT.

What you need to know from lab is:
Extraction = solubility, (oil, water)
Filtration = separation of the liquid from solid
Crystalization = impure crystals disolve in hot solvent
Sublimation = solid to gas, (high temp + low pressure or low temp + high pressure)
Centrifugation = sedimentation of the particles in a solution
Distillation = separation of one liquid from other through vaporization and condensation
Chromotography = separate, isolate, identify different compounds from a complex mixture, based on their chemical properties
Electrophoresis = separaton of biological molecules

Don’t expect to get on DAT any definitions of all these. They will give you specific examples from real life, and you really need to understand each definition in order to get the right answer.
After you read the definitions, try to find some examples from life, for instance you can use extraction to separate oil and water from a salad.
