Is pancreas an effector?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Of what? It effects blood glucose levels, glycogen levels, Peptide digestion...

effector is a cell or organ that produces a physiological response when stimulated by a nerve impulse.
That means i should ask if pancreas receive any nerve impulses to exert the actions like regulating blood glucose level?

uhh, yea. It doesn't just do its own thing on its own schedule. Its stimulated by some chemical messengers when you eat.

It is both an endocrine and an exocrine organ; it's exocrine functions involve secretomotor input from the nervous system. So, yes -- it is an "effector organ."
