Some schools actually do send you invites before you finish a secondary (i.e. Pitt and UMich). I'm not sure that about Uconn, although I do hear they have a pretty good Women's Basketball Team.

yank, pull, stretch... 😛

You're a solid applicant--maybe they didn't need you to prove it any further?

I would call the adcom at UConn immediately to find out and schedule your interview.

Curse you and your good fortune!

Congrats though...that's impressive. As someone who has been complete there for months, and who wants desperately to go there, I can only imagine what an odd bit of fortune it must be to have a school falling over itself to get at you! I would call to check it out, but it sounds pretty sweet. And based on your mdapplicants profile, you are a strong candidate indeed. Good luck!

Mistake or not, I would call them ASAP and schedule an interview... 😉
That's awesome! Good luck! :luck:

Ugh, same boat here and a Conn. resident. I don't understand what problem they have with me. I have been complete since Aug. I've said it before, they must want that out of state money!!!!!!

It's true. Indiana does too. But it's best to double check with the school. You have to schedule the interview day, anyways, so calling is definitely a good idea.

Good job!

thanks for the input, I really thought this was some elaborate hoax. I suppose I should count my blessings and call these people, (although no number was given in the email, just assurance that I would soon be contacted by the admin sectretary).

Congratulations on the interview.

OP-

Exact same thing happened to me at U of Mich...in fact, I sent them something asking if I REALLY had to do biochem as a prereq there. They said "yes" so I emailed them to withdraw my app - never did the secondary; never send the cash. Months later came a letter congratulating me on the interview and offering me a date to check em out.

Good luck with it.

I applied to UConn, but decided the secondary was too long and too $, so i withdrew. I am wondering if i will receive that same email. So far nothing.

But that would only be true for the first year because they let out of staters establish residency. I hope you get an interview though, I was there on 11/10 and loved it! I will probably be there next year!

I was there a couple of weeks ago and the admissions staff emphasized how easy it is to get your residency changed to instate. Of course, they also talked about how they mostly take CT students. So hang in there, Connecticutters!

Good luck on your interview.

Pm me if you have any questions about UCONN.

hahaha, I did the same thing. Thought the secondary was ridiculous. Keep in mind, I already had interviews to other schools, but still 8 essays etc. forget that.

OMG, we're all wrong! Something *IS* pulling your leg!

That picture is hilarious  Yeah, I emailed the secretary and she asked if I could kindly send in my essay's and $$, so that she could schedule the interview date. I have to admit, out of everything I was expecting to face during this process, surprises like this one really catch me off guard!

Glad to hear such good stuff about UConn, that motivates me to get writing those essays.
