is step 2 similar to 3rd year shelfs

Hi there I was wondering how similar step 2 is to the third year shelfs. I remmeber step 1 being quite different than my year 2 shelfs such as path, physio etc-the shelfs were often more detailed. JUst wondering what the concensus is on third year shelfs v. step 2. thanks

I thought Step 2 was a lot easier than the Shelf exams personally. Since Step 2 is not testing a single subject in depth, the questions tend to be more general. Also the vast majority of questions come with a long clinical blurb.

If you take the NBME practice exams online ($45/per) then you will have a good prediction of your score on the real thing.
