Is the game over in Dec-1st?

I have no interviews sofar...I have been rejected from a lot of schools and haven't heard from a lot of them. Let's say I don't hear anything by Dec-1st, is the game over then? Should I start preparing for next year?

1) DATs sent to all the schools
2) Transcripts verified, and sent by AADSAS
3) LORs Sent by AADSAS
4) Secondary Fees sent

Please don't take this as if I am being heartless and insensative. I am just telling you what I feel based on experience.

I don't need to tell you that your GPA is definitely on the low side. You need to prove to the adcoms that you can handle the rigorous course loads that we have in dental school. You really need to consider going back to school and working on a master's degree and get great grades. Because you have been out of school for so long and you didn't meet the level of achievment they expect of dental students to have performed in undergrad, you are most likely going to have to work your butt off to prove to them that you deserve to be there. Not to bash your hopes this year, but I think it is pretty safe to assume you will not be getting accepted this year if you haven't heard anything by Dec 1. So, what you need to do is develop a plan on how you are going to improve your application for next year and show the adcoms that you deserve to attend their dental schools.

I am currently attending a community college to finish up my pre-reqs and trying to get all A's...I will do the samething next semester by taking biochem and anatomy and so on...I am more worried about next years's plan...I was thinking of attending a four year school and take higher division bio courses along with some lower division courses that I got C in...I am not sure if I have to get my masters...can you shed some lights on that?
Then again, I appreciate your thoughtfull comments!

just adding some more constructive criticism. lots of dental schools will not accept the bulk of science courses from a commnity college. i am also a dental applicant from an engineering background, so i can somewhat relate. a few schools specifically state on their websites that no community college hours will be accepted, while others state that no more than 20, 30, 40 etc. hours can be done at a CC. you should look to finish out the bios, chems, orgos at a larger college. then if that still hasn't raised your science GPA significantly, then look for a biomedical sciences masters program that is largely just BCP type courses. i was not accepted last year with higher DATs and GPA than you. just my 2 cents to a fellow engineer. engineering desk jobs suck!!! but engineering itself rocks.

Thank you for your response...As for the CC courses, I have no choice...I have to finish them at CC...I think those conditions apply to a person who doesn't have a bachelor's degree...Obviously, if you have a BS then you should have a ton of courses from a 4 yr college...I agree my science GPA is low but my dental scince GPA(Bio, ochem, gchem...) is 3.6...My science GPA includes all those hard a** electromagnetic courses and RF courses...I dare any dental student to try and take some EE courses I am sure you know what I mean

This is a good point. I got rejected by Case and called them to find out why, they pointed out that some of my pre-req's were coming from CC. It is a stupid bias but a bias nontheless. But I've been invited to interview with other schools, If I had it to do over again, I'd try to get more pre req's at a Trad U. Hey DINI

Hang in there and just ace all your preq. I took all my preq within the last 3 years at a CC after graduating with a BS in computer science. I got A's in all of them and eventually TAed for most of the classes too. I also took a couple classes at a university too. Just make sure to have LOTs of dental experience, great LORs and a solid Personal Statement. I'd retake your DAT also, aim for 21+.

This is my second time applying and things are looking hopeful for me this cycle. Best of luck!!!!!!
