Is the Gates in Gow-Gates the Same as the Gates in Gates-Glidden?

I believe that Gow-Gates was one guy...so im guessing no.

looks to be the case:

Australian dentist named Dr. George A.E. Gow-Gates invented an alternative to the standard mandibular block in the mid 1970's.

It's not the gow-gates-glidden or g3 so i would assume no.
