Don't need the Red Book. Sanfords is good. Also, Epocrates is a must (Palm or Windows based), and Epocrates Pro has a cool infectious disease part I use a lot.

ePocrates didn't exist until I was a resident, but I don't recall using the Red Book much (if at all) on my peds rotation in med school. I carried the Sanford Guide, the Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia, and Harriet Lane. Those covered pretty much 95% of what I needed. For the other 5%, I could go to the library. ;)

Epocrates Pro. The essentials part has 5-minute clinical consult added, I think (don't have essentials myself).
