I had an interview with Midwestern back in October...and I was waitlisted immediately...but I still haven't heard anything???

Is this case hopeless...I REALLY REALLY liked the school???

There are some ppl who are holding multiple spots until May. They may drop their spots ; so, there is always hope until before the orientation.
If you REALLY REALLY like the school ( like I do : ) ), you should update your status (anything that you think it'll make you stand out) such as working volunteer at a dental clinic or increasing GPA or retaking DAT.... Also, call to talk to Dean about your status so that he can know who you are out of many waitlisted students ( but don't call him more than three times or you will annoy him ) Dr. Simonsen is very nice and helpful !
MWU will be a very good dental school. So, Good Luck ! 👍

def not...just hang in there most of friends got accepted off of the the wait list...it's not until that sad letter comes....

good luck

when did your friends get off waitlists and for what schools if you don't mind sharing please?

Yea, Naz, I understand you pain. I am waitlisted for MWU too, and I haven't heard anything since that Friday that i spoke with the dean. I guess we have to wait till may now to see if anyone will drop their seat. MWU is my first choice also... I'm still not sure how many people are on the waitlist, but i'm hopinig that everyone gets an opportunity to attend.. Has anyone else heard anything from MWU? Or know the chances of getting accepted if you are on the waitlist??

Sounds like they have quite a few people on the waitlist. Not to discourage you guys, I hope you all get in. Do you know where you are all at on the waitlist?

If you are still waitlisted in May I suggest you reapply versus waiting for a spot off the waitlist. While you could get in on the first day of classes an early application will help your reapplication. Of course, you maintain your waitlist positions.

I also suggest calling the schools where you are waitlisted and ask if there is anything else they could use - such as spring semester transcripts, additional LORs, any new DAT scores, updated volunteer/shadowing hours.

Thanks for all the hope
...DentalStd you said you talked to Dr. S. how can I do that do just ask the receptionist to transfer me, and what are some good things to say??? I get so nervous I loose my train of thought...eventhough I think I did pretty well at my interview and I sent a thankyou letter?? What did you tell him...and he tell you??

Thanks again!!
