is there a new edition of Robbins Review of Pathology

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
No, as far as I can tell, it's just Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease (big Robbins). A good site to check for this stuff is Majors Bookstore. They specialize in scientific and technical books, and will usually list the forthcoming edition several months prior to publication. And you can preorder it, too--perfect for the gunners among us! 😉 I haven't tried that, though, so I don't know how quickly they get them out. And sometimes there's a delay at the publisher's, so it's a good idea to add a month to whatever they list as the expected publication date.

Thanks for the site!!
SHows new edition might be out in Nov!! I hope so, cause I've Path in Jan!

We have Path the whole year, so instead I bought a used 2000 edition for cheap, and I plan to look over the new one when it comes out and decide then whether to buy or not. Did you see that there's also a case-based CD-ROM published separately? I wonder if that'd be good practice for Step 1...anyone know anything about it?

I wonder, that might be overkill for path, the CDrom might be, most folks on USMLE forum thought BRS Path and Robbins qbook was enough to review. I'm goin to use both and throw in Goljan's 5 day review.

yeah, I know. It was the idea of it being case-based, and the computer format that made it appealing. I think it's also pretty expensive, so it would have to be really good to be worth buying. And even then, I'd probably buy it instead of the new review book, rather than in addition to it.

(On a side note, Majors's tag line struck me as funny-- "We've got the tools!" I'm sure they're talking about the inanimate kind. 🙄 )
