Is there a point in applying if I get a low DAT?

With just these stats, I'm trying to aim for at least a 21 DAT, but if I apply at the end of july, what DAT score, if I got it should I not even consider applying(because it cost thousands)?

I was told I need 21 to be seen as competitive.

Well, nobody knows until you have a score in your hands. Definitely don't hit the submit button until you know what your score is.

I agree that you are probably going to want at least 20 in every section.

There is hope if you have something else that makes you stand out. Some backup schools will consider low GPA, but most will pass.

Why not submit before your DAT? ALOT of people submit their application in June and take their DAT between July and August

A dentist I was shadowing encouraged me to trust in myself and apply in June or July. I waited until August because I did not want to apply unless I scored 19+ AA.

Didn't take my DAT until beginning of August and submitted late August with 3.65 GPA, 3.56 sGPA and 20 AA.

No pre-december interviews for me. But got my acceptance in February 😉

I did not apply broadly and only applied to my state schools. This cycle was quite stressful because I applied late.

Would have been different if I applied broadly and early. I only wanted to submit with a competitive DAT.

How many schools are you going to apply to and how confident are you that you can score 21+??
