Hi everyone,
I'm a Canadian graduate who just finished med school. I matched to my specialty of choice in Canada and after I finished my Canadian licensing exams, I also took USMLE step 2 CK in case I ever want to do a fellowship in the US. I didn't take this test too seriously, so I passed, but not with all that great of a score. I was initially under the impression that scores didn't matter for fellowship and I just needed to pass, but I'm now questioning whether that's true.
I'm now wondering whether there is a point for me to continue through the rest of the steps (Step 2 CK is the only part I've taken). I don't plan on practicing in the US, will definitely finish my residency in Canada, and don't have any solid plans for fellowship (I was just considering a research fellowship).
If anyone has any advice, I would be grateful. Thanks!
