Hey! So the other day I saw this question asked in an interview...
"What is the difference in your opinion between a physician and dentist?"

First off.. do you think they are looking for a specific answer to this question and if so.. what is it?

Second.. how would you go about answering this question without putting down medicine and sounding cocky yet still building up why you want to be a dentist?

Just sort of having a hard time figuring out a nice, flowing answer to this one. Thanks in advance and good luck to all!

I think a dentist is a physician. Just a physician of a certain part of the body. Then maybe explain that there is more one-on-one time with patients and I think you get to know your patients better... not sure.........😕

A dentist is not a physician - both are doctors, but different types of doctors. That said, I do think that dentistry is sub-specialty of medicine, and you could build your answer on that. Were you asked that at an interview? Seems like a really odd way to ask the "why dentistry?/why not medicine?" question.

I think ak 47 answer is the right way to approach this question. It is the same way I approached it in my interview and all the interviewers agreed with me

I think this could be a subtle way of asking "why dentistry and not medicine?"
It sort of follows on that general theme.
