is there a specific name for this orgo reaction?

so i found this reaction in one of the destroyer road maps and i'm unsure of whether or not it is a specific reaction..can anyone help in identifying it?

I guess you can call it an amide formation via acylating an aniline 🙂

it would be a way to prepare aryl amides, and obviously if there are more carbons attached then there you go, you extended the carbon chain!

Not that I know. But from the textbooks, this would go to section for protecting groups.
 
It is a specific example of much larger class of rxns call Nucleophilic Acyl Substitution. Most textbooks have a chapter about Carboxylic Acid Derivatives covering it.
