Hello everyone,
The title says it all - is there any advantage for an OOS applicant to apply through TMDSAS rather than AADSAS?
Since their application starts in May, I would imagine it might offer a better chance at securing an interview. Also, perhaps Texas ADCOMS might like the fact that an OOS applicant took the extra effort to apply through their system? But those may be purely imaginations of my own.

Any ideas?

I doubt it would make any difference. It's worth a try though. The TMDSAS app is longer than the AADSAS app. The good thing (or bad thing depending on how you look at it) about TMDSAS is that there are more essays to write which could help the adcoms get to know you better. Also the space for EC's and things are unlimited on TMDSAS (unlike AADSAS which limits you to 10 activities), so you could put EVERYTHING you did in undergrad.

I personally have never heard of an OOS use the TMDSAS app before. I say try it and let us know how it goes!

I believe that the TMDSAS is specifically for Texas residents. If you applied through it, I doubt it would work, and in the off chance that it did I think they would just view you as someone who couldn't follow directions as opposed to some one who went above and beyond.

According to the TMDSAS official dental website (https://www.tmdsas.com/dental/homepage.html)
Texas residents must apply through TMDSAS. Non-residents may apply through either the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) or TMDSAS.

Ask those who were accepted or had an interview as an OOS what they used.

My suggestion is use whatever service you feel you can put the most information into (in terms of clubs, volunteering, work, etc.). In this case, it would be TMDSAS since they have more sections to fill out and optional supplementarys essays which I recommend filling out for the best chance of getting in.
