hi all,

Im an applicant in this cycle.
I haven't been interviewed yet due to my low RC score for the first DAT.
However, I retook DAT yesterday and had good score just I think.
Below is my old and new score.

the first one(7.15.08)-the second one(1.14.09)
AA: 19-------22
TS: 20-------24
Bio: 21-------22
Chem: 19-------24
Orgo: 20-------26
PAT: 20-------20
QR: 19-------19
RC: 14-------18😕(old RC score is the main reason why I didn't get any interview yet)

My aadsas science GPA is 3.93(3.79 overall)
I'm an international student(asian) so I applied 14 private schools only
But I finished graduate school in computer science in the states.
Now I took all prerequisites for dental school including biochem and anatomy class in second tier university.

As you already saw, my RC score was so low for the first time.
I think that's the reason why I got 4 rejections already and no interview yet. Im so depressed now. Today is already on jan 15. I am so fearful the deadline.
Right after finishing the second DAT, I was so happy.
But I feel hopeless now because some schools don't receive my second DAT score.
I have to re-apply next cycle?


I applied creighton, western, uop, nyu, bu, detroit mercy, columbia, nova, upenn, usc, pitt, marquette, temple, ucsf
I'm rejected from nyu, nova, upenn, ucsf.


Of course, I will wait until late May. But I am so stressful about thinking if I have to reapply.
Please give any advice including good or bad things

You may have to reapply, but I'm pretty sure you will get in with those scores if you do. Don't worry, a year off to make some money, and not all hope is lost just yet, but its getting slim. Prepare for the chance you may have to reapply

I would call the schools and ask if you can fax your copy of your new DAT scores to them so they can see them before they get the official copy in a few weeks.

it's a shame if you don't get in. If the schools you applied to still have openings for acceptances (which I think almost all dental schools do at this point), you should be fine.

You must feel anxious at this point but you might have to wait for another few months to hear the good news.

Friend of mine submitted his scores last week and did well. His top choice gave him an interview this Friday. Moral of the story is there is still hope.

im really surprised that you didnt get in with your first stats ... i think you should have even better luck with your new DAT scores ... congrats
