Does anyone know a helpful text book for selfstudy undergrad MOLECULAR GENETICS and BioChemistry? :meanie:

My molecular biology class is using "Molecular Biology of the Gene" by Watson, et al. (yes, that Watson; it's been updated since the first edition, naturally.) It's very clear, with good illustrations.

The best idea is probably to stop by your university library and check out whatever they have, unless you're floating in extra money.

You should definitely check out Lehninger's Principles of Biochemistry. It's a classic and oft-used biochemistry text.
Agreed - that's what we used and while it's very dense I thought it covered everything really well.

I hear some med schools use it too but I think it may have too much detail for med school.

True, the library is often underused. You can probably find a textbook there that you can use to study, just make sure it's somewhat recent.

Or you can just use uTorrent to download a PDF version of Lehninger's. That's what I did (along with a number of other textbooks).... :meanie:
