Is there anything useful on Reddit while we wait?

Having read most posts on the premed forum here, and the WAMC sub forum, I was just curious if anyone finds good info on Reddit? I already know about (and I am a big fan of) Limeyguydr’s Interview Tracker. But are there any other good sections on the r/premed board? Or is it just memes and neurotic worries?

Memes, neurotic worries, and shunning of anyone who does not conform to universal support.

Note: I am extraordinarily biased as my only interaction with reddit was 4 days of straight flaming fury on my part for literally no reason.

Wait lol, wasn't it because someone on SDN dared you to copypasta that one "Doesn't it feel so great to have 10 IIs in July" post?

Yah, and then I just rolled with it. GBGH.

So literally just like this but with memes?
Nah, SDN absolutely DOES NOT conform to the model of universal support. We actively tell people they are making poor decisions or they should not apply, or things of that nature. On reddit, if you are a high stats person who wants to be happy then you are downvoted to oblivion for making most people feel less-than. Here, as long as you don't openly brag about success (success is still perfectly valid to talk about in context) then no one cares and your concerns will still be addressed.

Premeddit is almost cultish imho; the hivemind is strong. In the end its just a forum and strangers on the interwebs. If checking the forums are triggering you and occupying 90% of your brainspace, then there's a bigger problem LMAO

True for reddit, true for SDN. Reddit is basically the nicer version of SDN, but without adcoms

As someone who’s impartial to both sites (but I lurk every now and then), I find it extremely ironic that someone on SDN is saying this about r/premed; both sites are cultish in their own ways (YES I USED A SEMICOLON COME AFTER ME).
SDN is the cult of correctness and r/premed is the cult of wrongness /s

Both sites have completely different cultures and completely different approaches. But in the end, they both exist to help serve the same goal - help us all become physicians.

There are acting gigs looking for med students that pay more. You should contact Dr. Jonathan Sins to see if there are openings
