I am looking for some advice / insight. I have an overall GPA of 3.6 and a science GPA of 3.12. To make matters worse - my grades took a downturn over the last couple semesters. First two years got straight A's, but at community college. Some prereq courses: Bio I and II, Chem I taken at comm. college. All others taken at transfer institution.

I am a veteran of OEF, non-traditional student. Have shadowed 20+ hours w/ one DDS.

I have not yet taken DAT yet, scheduled mid-July, but even if I land killer scores on the DAT - should I spend a fortune applying with these stats or hold off and retake some courses to bring up my GPA?

It really all comes down to your DAT scores... high marks in the sciences on the DAT can offset your lower science GPA. Your overall GPA is fine though.

I would focus on the DAT and getting a total science of 20. Retaking classes may help, but remember that aadsas factors in both grades. So with a 3.16 science, which is a B average, getting A's in some of those classes (which you might not do) will only raise it to a 3.3-3.4 max and that is if you retake a lot of the science classes. Apply and give it a shot, u will never get accepted if you don't apply.

you should double check with the schools you are applying to since some schools don't accept cc pre-req credits.

Make sure you stay on the upward trend and do well on the DAT. Good luck!
