Is this a crazy idea?

If you can handle both and keep your GPA as high as it would be if you had just one then med schools will definitely not view that as bad.

But a person with one degree and a high GPA is more appealing then on with two degrees and a low GPA.

So if you are doing the degree for the right reasons (you are passionate about it and can do good in it) then it can only help you. If your doing it to make yourself more appealing and you do not do all that good then it will hurt you.

Medical schools will definitely like that as long as you keep a good cGPA and sGPA and have a good balance of volunteering, medical experience, ECs, etc. They like well rounded students, so an international relations major would definitely help. But like the other poster said, only do it if you are truly interested in it.

A international relations degree is relatively low in course work. You can easily take all the fun classes in human physiology along with just the major without all the extremely annoying lab work.
