I'm thinking about not taking any biology classes this semester. I am taking ochem2, linear algebra, and doing research. Total of 12 credits with two labs. I took 3 bio classes with ochem 1 last semester. The reason I'm thinking of skipping a bio class is because I am studying for the dat during the semester and taking it in May. So I want to ensure that I will be able to balance Dat and school studying at the same time. So is this a good or a bad idea?
Thanks!

You're taking Ochem which is fine. It adds to your BCP GPA.
What are those labs in?

Physics and Chem labs. And research is dental related. Linear algebra is a 300 level math class.

Taking Organic 2 right before the DAT is a good idea. The organic section on the DAT will most likely be easier than your class.

Do you think a semester with no biology classes would look bad? I have never taken a semester with 12 credits. My lowest was 13 once, and I always take 15-18.

I'm absolutely not an authority on this, but I don't think it will matter. Is 12 hours the minimum amount to stay enrolled at your school?

I don't see, "hard semesters," on there. The only explicit advice I can recall is to do well in, "a couple hard semesters," just to prove that you can handle the workload. I've never heard that you have to sustain a killer schedule.

12 is a minimum to stay a full time student. I took 18 credits with 3 upper level math classes and 2 chem and physics classes. That was the only semester i did bad, and unfortunately brought me from a 3.6 to 3.3 overall.
