If less than 60% of applicants to a school last year completed their application is this a red flag? More than 40% of the students saw something they didn't like and threw away the $30 application fee... What do you think?

Depends on the school. From what I hear, if it's Duke, then more than 40% of the students probably just didn't want to spend all that time filling out the secondary. 😛

Either the secondary is long, or they found out that the school prohibits you from drinking or engaging in extra-marital sex.

I sent my primary to Duke. I saw the secondary. I kept my secondary application fee.

*in all honesty, it's because they require another LOR that I really couldn't get*

I saw that in Loyola's Admissions Catalog, only ~4400/7700 completed their applications. I think it says more about the applicants than the school. (Except if the school screens.)

I wouldn't worry about incomplete secondaries.

People don't return secondaries for plenty of reasons... I would worry more about people that were attending the school and left than those that started applying and didn't finish.
