As long as it doesn't have ice skating polar bears on it, it's acceptable.

It's fine, this is a little too much though. You are not being evaluated on your tie, and only would it be an issue if it was a holiday tie, a wide 70's tie, or something ridiculous like that.

I wore a tie like this to my friend's wedding and I got complimented and my friend straight up told me it's ugly. I think those compliments were fake...

It's perfectly acceptable. The design is a little ugly, but nobody will care.
How ugly a tie is really depends on the guy wearing it and the color of his suit and dress shirt. I could never pull that tie off, but a guy with darker skin and the right shirt/suit combination probably could.

When I see that color yellow I think of the same yellow on NJ license plates and then I think...mmm gross. The OP should do a solid color of black, gray, royal blue or white

It's fine but... yeah. I dunno about that scheme.

All but one of my ties are solid colored, the other is sort of like this:

Nice material, but it's not as easy to fit in an outfit as the others.

that's about as plain and simple as you can get with a tie. it's a solid tie though as long as you compliment it well with the right shirt and jacket. i wore a blue paisley tie to all of my interviews since i'm not a fan of plain and simple ties, but plain and simple is always safe. just don't wear a black tie with skulls on it like my interviewer did :nono:
