Basically, I have trouble studying "first-aid" and "u-world" over actually reading the pathology, pharmacology, neuro, phys, micro books, etc...I feel the latter are way more valuable for me right now. I take the boards in late may. I was planning on "switching over" to JUST studying first-aid, u-world, and maybe some pathoma and combank (And of course the omm review) in like mid-april and basically just focus on that.
Is that OK or should the question banks and first-aid occupy more of my time already?
Bonus question: At what point is it better to skip the USMLE and take the COMLEX? Like how ****y do I have to be actually fail the usmle? I go to a PBL-based school with high board averages and always score better than average on exams and the "practice boards" (not bragging) but I still feel usmle might **** me over.
Thanks a ton.

UFAPS should be the fundamental backbone of your prep. You need to know them inside and out. But you do you.

I think you need to have at least a full 5-6 weeks x 12 hours a day of real work for just UFAP to really learn it well enough.

Don’t even start the ‘do I really need to take USMLE?’ thought experiment. Take it. End of story.

I'm trying to go into family med. I still should definitely take usmle?
