The fact that its free downplays its efficacy in my mind. I'm taking the 2015 MCAT and I have to learn biochem through an online course since orgo II is a prereq for biochem in the school I attend. This messes up my timeline so I need an online course and take them together.

Would this be sufficient for the biochem portion of the MCAT?

It looks like it covers the main topics - namely structure + fuction, metabolism, and macromolecules like proteins/nucleic acids/lipids. I don't know how in depth it is, especially considering that most University biochemistry series cover those main topics over the course of 1 year, as opposed to 1 semester.

On the AAMCAS website they require one semester of Biochemistry

Why don't you check over AAMC website to see what they expect you to know for biochem? I took the old mcat and they have a specific list of things you need to know for each subject so I expect there should be one for biochem. I'm on my phone so I can't find the links now. If I were you I would find out the biochem subject list and use it as a guide to study. Hope it helps you in some way.
